Manchester United have a one-goal advantage going into their Champions League quarter-final second leg after beating Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night
The game got off to a lively start and Michael Essien was lucky not to be booked in the second minute of the game for a late foul on Wayne Rooney.
It was Chelsea who made the better start to the game, with United creating little in the final third in the opening fifteen minutes.
But it was Sir Alex Ferguson's side who took the lead after 24 minutes when Michael Carrick's superb cross-field pass found Ryan Giggs, who brought the ball down and beat Jose Bosingwa before racing into the box and pulling the ball back for Wayne Rooney to slot home with a little help from the post.
Fernando Torres again failed to find the net for Chelsea v Man
