Lady Gaga godmother to Elton John's son...

BRITISH music superstar Elton John has revealed that he and his partner have chosen pop diva Lady Gaga to be their baby boy's godmother, as he spoke of his joy at being a father.
"Yes, yes she is," John told ABC's Babara Walters when she asked him if the outlandish singer was the godmother of his son, Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, in an interview broadcast on Friday.

"When you get to the real person underneath, there's a very simple New York girl who loves her parents. I love her to death and a lot of people said, 'oh, you know, that's crazy,' but they don't know her and we do."

Zachary was born December 25 to a surrogate for John, 64, and his partner 48-year-old Canadian filmmaker David Furnish, and the couple told ABC of their delight in having a son, and their determination not to spoil him.

"I knew I'd feel joy but it was the most relaxing thing that's ever happened to me," John said.

"We change him, we bath him, we feed him and we read him a story every night," said John of the couple's routine. "And we take him to lunch."

But the millionaire singer said he was determined his four-month-old would learn about values, even though he was being brought up in the lap of luxury.

"The worst thing you can do to a child, and I've seen it happen so many times, is the silver spoon," John said.

"Being the child of a famous person is very difficult and we're very well aware of the pitfalls of that."

Furnish, who married John in 2005 after 12 years together, agreed.
"Our life might be very luxurious, but it's all come from hard work," he said.

"Both Elton and I have sort of earned everything we've done in our careers and furthered our educations through our own drive and our own ambitions and we want Zachary to be exactly the same sort of way."

By turning to a surrogate mother, the couple followed in the footsteps of Sex in the City star Sarah Jessica Parker and her actor husband Matthew Broderick who had twin girls by a surrogate mother in 2009.

Latino pop star Ricky Martin also used a surrogate to have twin boys before announcing he was gay.

Elton John has sold more than 250 million records in a career spanning four decades and the singer-songwriter was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994.

It was confirmed on yesterday that John and Furnish will attend the wedding next Friday of Prince William and Kate Middleton in Westminster Abbey.

John sang the hit Candle in the Wind at the funeral of William's mother Princess Diana in the abbey after her death in a car crash in Paris.

Andres Iniesta..

Andres Iniesta
If punished by Uefa on Wednesday, he would miss the semi-final, first leg against Real Madrid on 27 April.
The 26-year-old Spain midfielder was booked in the quarter-final against Shakhtar Donetsk, meaning he missed the return leg but would then be available.
Barca said the "good faith of the player" will help them in the appeal.
Iniesta was cautioned for not retreating the required distance at a free-kick against the Ukrainian side, with the Catalan outfit winning the game at the Nou Camp 5-1 on 6 April.
However, a Barca statement read: "The good faith of the player and the disproportionate nature of the proposed sanction will be sufficient to rebut the allegations."

Mubarak Hali Mbaya..

Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is in intensive care after suffering a heart attack, say state media.
It happened as he was being questioned by prosecutors over allegations of corruption and the killing of hundreds of protesters, reports said.
The manager of the hospital in Sharm el-Sheikh was earlier quoted saying the 82-year-old's condition was stable.
Mr Mubarak stood down on 11 February following an 18-day popular uprising against his rule.
Mr Mubarak's two sons, Alaa and Gamal, are also under investigation and are being questioned at the prosecutor's office in the provincial capital of el-Tor.
"There is a state of confusion inside the hospital and only patients are allowed in," Ashraf Swaylam, a news reporter for the state-run station Nile TV, said earlier.
The hospital was accepting no patients except for emergency cases, another local media report said.
Protesters picketed the hospital, denouncing the president and carrying a sign reading "Here is the butcher", AP news agency reported. They scuffled with supporters of Mr Mubarak.
Media reports say the health minister is to give a statement on the matter.
Mr Mubarak underwent gall bladder surgery in the German city of Heidelberg last year and there were reports that he had remained in poor health, although his aides had denied this.
Media roprts says it is understood that the former president's doctors had asked Egypt's ruling military council for permission to send him back to Germany for treatment, but that this was refused.
Mr Mubarak has been banned from leaving the country, along with his sons and their wives, and the family's assets have been frozen. He denies any wrongdoing.

Speaking during an interview with New York's Z100 radio yesterday about whether the two women would be doing a video for the remixed track, Rihanna, said: "I hope so. I want to spank Britney."
She then went on to discuss how the collaboration came about.
The singer said: "It's very strange. Britney never does features. It was really amazing that she really wanted to be part of this song.
"She really liked the song to begin with, but it was a different story when she had to sing it, and she really wanted to be a part of it. It made it really, really special, because you never see two pop female artists doing songs together anymore."
The star added: "In order to do a remix, it had to be major. I asked my fans last week who they wanted me to collaborate with, and Britney was one of the most popular names."

The royal will marry fiancee Kate Middleton in London on 29 April and the former Wham! star is looking forward to watching the nuptials - and he's promised an extra special treat for fans to mark the big day.
In a series of posts on his Twitter.com page, he writes, "I have been thinking about Will and Kate.... and I'm so happy for William... the whole country is getting ready to party! Let's have our own celebration twitter style.....
"Instead of Song of the Day, let's pick a song I can give to you on here sometime this week. I'll grab my piano player and bob's your uncle... Wedding gift and bank holiday thank u to my twitter lovelies rolled into one.
"I'll do the vocals at home... Come on boyz n girls...what song should it be? Oh and it can't be one of mine, they are all a bit too sad....no sniggering and agreeing, you at the back!"
Michael also reveals he once turned down the chance to perform for the Prince at his late mother Diana's royal residence, Kensington Palace.
He adds, "I only ever met him twice, but he was such a nice kid. Actually he asked me to sing!!! He was only eight! It was a Xmas party at Kensington Palace, and believe it or not I'm too shy to sing to small numbers of people....
"So I said no.....it was excruciating, his little Xmas smile disappeared, but the only people I knew in the room were Diana and Elton (John)! So I b**ody said no to the future king of my country...oh the shame."

Freeman Mbowe atoa Tamko.....

“Tunawashukuru CCM kwa kuelewa kuwa kutokuwajibika dawa yake ni kujiuzulu, tunataka utamaduni huu waupeleke serikalini na siyo ndani ya chama kwani hilo halitasaidia kitu," alisema Mbowe na kuongeza;

Rais Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete

Katika hotuba hiyo Kikwete alisema;

Wazee wadai Haki zao Ughaibuni...

Kenyans Wambugu Wa Nyingi, left, Jane Muthoni, Paulo Nzili and Ndiku Mutua stand outside the High Court in London.
A group of elderly Kenyans who say they were tortured under British colonial rule are seeking compensation at London's High Court in a case that could expose the UK to thousands of claims from across its former territories.
Four Kenyans, aged in their 70s and 80s, have traveled from their homes in rural Kenya to press their claim that Britain is liable for the abuse they suffered during the Mau Mau uprising -- during which hundreds of ordinary Kenyans, including Barack Obama's grandfather, were arrested.
Lawyers for the four say they suffered extreme acts of torture -- including castration and sexual assault -- at the hands of British administration officials in detainment camps during the uprising between 1952 and 1961.
But Britain's Foreign and Commonwealth Office denies all liability and wants the judge to throw out the case on the grounds that all liability transferred to the Kenyan Republic when the country gained independence in 1963.
The case, which could set a precedent allowing thousands of former British subjects to claim compensation, has thrown new light on the country's colonial past after a huge cache of secret files relating to British administration in 37 colonies was uncovered.
The Foreign Office has been ordered to produce all evidence relevant to the Kenya case, including hundreds of boxes of files, secretly smuggled out of the country ahead of independence.
These are said to contain graphic accounts of prisoner abuse. CNN's Nima Elbagir, reporting from the High Court, said the files contained "pretty horrific detail."
Despite the British government's efforts to derail the case, Wambugu Wa Nyingi, one of the victims pursuing the claim, said he expected a ruling that would allow him to find closure.
"I am confident the British government has elders who believe in justice and doing the right thing, they will listen to us and give us something that will help us in the remaining part of our lives," he told CNN.
During the uprising, as many as 150,000 Kenyans were incarcerated in what was then British East Africa, accused of being members of the resistance movement started by marginalized tribes. Among them were many ordinary citizens, including U.S. President Obama's grandfather.
Obama referred to his grandfather's incarceration in his memoir "Dreams from My Father," writing that Hussein Onyango Obama, who fought with the British Army during World War II, was held for six months but found innocent.
Nyingi, who is 83 this year, says he was detained without charge for nine years, beaten with sticks and forced into labor. He says he survived a massacre at one British-run camp after which he lay unconscious for three days alongside 11 people who were killed.
"I suffered physical violence on my head, on my legs, I still have the scars today because of the beatings from the colonial administrators," he told AFP.
"I am here to get justice for the many of my colleagues who have since died, and others who are still alive but living in abject poverty because of the injustices that were committed by the British colonial government.
"It's their responsibility to own up and pay us back now, compensate us, so that when I die, I do not have to keep telling my grandchildren of the injustices that were done."
In a statement, the Foreign Office said it welcomed debate Kenya's colonial past, but it intended to defend the case.
"We understand the strong feelings that the Mau Mau issue still creates in Kenya and elsewhere. It remains a deeply divisive issue within Kenya and one on which historians continue to debate," it said

Mambo ya Golf...

Rory McIlroy followed his opening day 65 with a round of 69 to take the clubhouse lead at the Masters.

Rory McIlroy leads the Masters by two shots at halfway from Australian Jason Day but a late Tiger Woods charge stole the limelight at Augusta Friday.
Northern Ireland's McIlroy carded a four-birdie 69 for 10-under 134 while fellow young gun Day matched the best second round in tournament history of 64 to step up his challenge for a first major.
Woods captivated the galleries with seven birdies in his final 11 holes, including a three on the last, for a six-under 66.
That left the 14-time major champion in a tie for third with Korean KJ Choi on seven-under.
"I played myself back in the championship but there's still 36 holes to play," he told gathered reporters.

He dropped his only shot in two rounds at the 10th and missed a series of birdie putts on the back nine which would have seen him move further clear. But while Woods often relied on a hot putter, leader McIlroy was peerless from tee to green.
"I didn't expect to shoot another 65 out there today," he said.
"I knew that I played pretty much flawlessly yesterday.
"I played pretty similar today to be honest. You know, I've got myself into great position in this golf tournament."
Spain's Alvaro Quiros, who led with McIlroy after the first day, slipped back to six-under and was joined by another Australian Geoff Ogilvy.
World number two Lee Westwood also moved into the picture with a five-under 67, including an eagle on the 15th, but No.1 Martin Kaymer missed the cut.
Other big movers on day two at Augusta included 1992 Masters champion Fred Couples, who shot 68 to move onto five-under. He was joined by compatriots Ricky Barnes and Rickie Fowler, as well as Korean YE Yang.
Englishman Luke Donald and American Jim Furyk equaled Couples' feat, shooting 68's to move to the group at four-under which also included Spain's Sergio Garcia.
Defending champion Phil Mickelson endured a frustrating level par round as he matched four birdies with four bogeys to remain on two-under.

MAN U NI NOMAAA......

Manchester United have a one-goal advantage going into their Champions League quarter-final second leg after beating Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night
The game got off to a lively start and Michael Essien was lucky not to be booked in the second minute of the game for a late foul on Wayne Rooney.
It was Chelsea who made the better start to the game, with United creating little in the final third in the opening fifteen minutes.
But it was Sir Alex Ferguson's side who took the lead after 24 minutes when Michael Carrick's superb cross-field pass found Ryan Giggs, who brought the ball down and beat Jose Bosingwa before racing into the box and pulling the ball back for Wayne Rooney to slot home with a little help from the post.

Fernando Torres again failed to find the net for Chelsea v Man
